FOUR COUNTY EMC REPRESENTATIVES CONVERGE AT GENERAL ASSEMBLY, DISCUSS ENERGY ISSUES WITH STATE LEGISLATORS

House of Representative Chris Millis met with boards members and employees. Four County EMC employees and Board members joined more than 160 representatives from North Carolina�s 26 electric cooperatives at the state legislature June 24-25 for the co-ops� annual �Rally in Raleigh.�
Four County EMC board members and employees talked to legislators about issues that affect the reliability and cost of the power provided to electric cooperative members. “We are always focused on our members and our ability to provide them with affordable, reliable power. Four County EMC board members and employees use the event as an opportunity to educate legislators on the issues that affect our ability to serve.”
Cooperative employees and board members also took this opportunity to share their successes with projects they are completing in their districts including new construction, energy efficiency, economic development, smart grid, smart meters, community outreach and more.
North Carolina’s electric cooperatives collectively provide energy to more than 2.5 million people across 93 of the state’s 100 counties. The 26 cooperatives, including Four County EMC, are private, independent and not-for-profit entities that have long supported responsible stewardship of the environment balanced with providing safe, affordable, and reliable energy.
Four County EMC serves more than 32,000 members in Bladen, Duplin, Pender and Sampson counties.
