Four County EMC�s Bright Ideas Teacher Honored Tar Heel Teacher of the Week - November 1- 8

Teresa Wiles, six-time Bright Ideas recepient honored as Tar Heel Teacher of the Week. Four County EMC is proud to honor six-time Bright Ideas grant recipient Mrs. Teresa M. Wiles of Clarkton School of Discovery as Tar Heel Teacher of the Week.
Teresa is one of only 12 teachers statewide to receive the Teacher of the Week designation this year. She was nominated by the Cooperative in recognition of her dedication to students and for winning Bright Ideas education grant funding for last year’s project, “Windows of the World.” Mrs. Wiles is a repeat winner and takes that extra step every year to submit a creative Bright Ideas grant.
A technology teacher, Mrs. Wiles is truly deserving of this award: she has dedicated 17 years to working with Bladen County students, setting high standards for herself and for them, and striving to integrate technology into real-life learning experiences that students can connect to their present lives, as well as to the future.
Mrs. Wiles will be recognized Saturday, November 2 on radio broadcast of UNC vs. N.C. State football game during the second quarter. Mrs. Wiles will receive four tickets to a UNC football game and a pre-game tailgate celebration, as well as a plaque commemorating her achievements. We applaud Teresa for her dedication and commitment to her school, students and community. Congratulations, Mrs. Wiles, and thank you for all you do!
This year’s Four County Bright Ideas education grant application deadline was September 20, but will reopen for applications again in April of 2014.
The Tar Heel Teacher of the Week and Bright Ideas education grant programs are examples of Four County EMC’s commitment to community.
